Apathetic and useless.
Insanity. That's what this is. Tell me how there could be any other explanation for picketing a funeral. Honestly. The best part is, this moron does it in the name of my GOD. The very nature of God is love. Love God, love others, and do something about it. I mean, in a nutshell, that's it, right? How can anyone stand behind the name of a holy, living God and say things like "God hates Fags"? This church-this BAPTIST CHURCH (not cult, not a satanist group)-has picketed the funerals of gays, soldiers, Pastors, leaders, victims of tragedy and even Jerry Falwell. They mock survivors and attacks loved ones of these people. They've started websites such as "GodHatesFags.com" and "GodHatesAmerica.com".

On October 29, 2005, the church put out a flyer saying "Praise the Lord for 2,010 Dead Soldiers in Iraq" and stating "We humbly pray to God to please kill many more".
A WBC website says of the September 11, 2001 attacks:
"On September 11, 2001, God Almighty struck the United States of America with the worst terrorist attack in her history."
After the September 11 terrorist attacks, Phelps' group went to New York City to protest the rescue efforts going on there, mocking victims as they were taken from the rubble, shouting obscenities at rescue workers and demanding that those still alive be left to die. Phelps reasoned that God had caused the terrorist attacks as a punishment for tolerance of homosexuality, and that it was God's will that those who suffered in the attacks should die.
Signs carried at the Ground Zero site included, "THANK GOD FOR SEPT. 11", "FDNY SIN (with a picture of stick-figures engaged in anal sex)", "NYPD FAGS (with a picture of stick-figures engaged in anal sex)", "YOUR PENTAGON IS SQUARE" and "TOWERS CRASH, GOD LAUGHS".

I have seen more 'Christians' hurt people, turn people away from Christ, destroy lives. As believers in a living, loving God, should we not be bringing people to Him? What is wrong with us? We have become comfortable in our lives as the little religious people, and the people we should be reaching are LOST because of it! It's apathy, and God has no use for apathetic people. Apathy makes us useless. When are we, as "God's people" going to start acting like maybe God actually does care what happens to the people around us? Our primary purpose should be helping people to enable them to come to know the love, grace, and mercy of God. Instead, that purpose gets distorted, shoved aside, and replaced by a desire for good show. If I look good, people will come to this church. If I kick out all the ones that make us look bad, we'll look spotless and people will enroll their kids in this great school. Christian families, schools, churches, programs, businesses. We have fallen so short of that purpose. People are hurting! People are homeless! In poverty! Suicidal, depressed, addicted, angry, hungry, and spiritually desperate! Where are we? What can we do about it? Why aren't we doing it?
I hope that when it's all said and done, that my life will matter enough to have my funeral picketed by Westboro Baptist Church and Fred Phelps.
